CODE OF CONDUCT ALONG WITH STANDARD PROCEDURES
FOR ALL STUDENTS
1. Students are expected to maintain the highest standards of discipline and dignified manner of behavior inside as well as outside the College campus. They shall abide by the rules and regulations of the College and should act in a way that highlights the discipline and esteem of the College.
2. A six-day working schedule from Monday to Saturday is followed. All the students are expected to be present in the class well within time and late coming will attract strict action. Late coming will also result in loss of attendance for the corresponding hour.
3. No student shall enter or leave the class room when the session is on without the permission of the teacher concerned.
4. In the events of mandatory Practicum related sessions etc., it is compulsory that all the students of the concerned class be present for the entire session.
5. Students can leave the campus during class hours only after getting due permission from the concerned faculty in consultation with the Principal.
6. All leave applications (Regular & Medical) shall be submitted in time, for sanction by concerned teachers in consultation with the Principal. Application for medical leave shall be accompanied by valid medical certificates.
7. Students shall come to the college in appropriate attire as specified by concerned teachers. For occasions specified by the concerned teachers, male students will be dressed in formal shirts and trousers and shoes. Female students will be dressed in Salwar Kameez (length of the Kameez will be below the knees) with dupatta or sarees and appropriate chappals/sandals. All the students are expected to attend all college functions in the specified attire unless otherwise specified. On regular days, the students may be dressed as mentioned earlier or maybe dressed in an attire that is in alignment with the dignity of the profession.
8. All students shall wear their identity cards, well displayed. All kinds of tattooing, body piercing, hair styling etc. that goes against the existing norms of the profession should be avoided.
9. Students are expected to maintain silence in the academic buildings to maintain the decorum and, any deviant behavior such as hooting, whistling, loitering etc. will be treated as an instance of indiscipline.
10. For independent study, students are expected to use the class rooms, library or the demarcated areas of the academic building and shall not resort to sitting in staircases or areas where they could interfere with the free movement.
11. Students are encouraged to make use of the library, common computing facilities and be involved in professional body activities or any program authorized by the college beyond class hours.
12. Access to academic buildings beyond the college timings and on holidays without written/oral permission from the concerned teacher/s, in consultation with the Principal will be treated as a case of indiscipline.
13. All students are expected to use the mobile phones, only for academic purposes, inside HJCE campus in a judicious and responsible manner.
14. Accessing Social Networking Sites such as Face book, Twitter etc. is prohibited within the college campus.
15. The campus ought to be kept neat and clean. Do not put any waste anywhere in the campus except in the waste baskets kept for the same. Any violation of this shall invite a minimum fine as decided by the Discipline committee of the college.
16. Consumption of intoxicants / psychotropic substances in any form or smoking or using chewing gum, pan masala etc. are strictly prohibited in the college campus.
CODE OF CONDUCT DURING SCHOOL BASED INTERNSHIP
1. Attendance is compulsory. 100% attendance during the Internship is mandatory. In case of emergency / or unavoidable circumstances, students ought to consult Practice Teaching In-charges to arrive at the best possible solution for all.
2. Every student must ensure that s/he reaches school at least 5 minutes prior to Assembly. Late coming to school is not acceptable.
3. Every student is expected to maintain the school timings and remain in the school throughout until the school ends.
BEHAVIOUR WITH RESPECT TO CONDUCT OF LESSONS
Every student should-
1. Be appropriately and professionally dressed and groomed properly while going to school.
2. Be committed to the teaching process, exhibit enthusiasm and show initiative in school activities.
3. Establish healthy, respectful and professional rapport with students, teachers, supervisor and principal of the school.
4. Greet everybody in the school in a pleasant manner.
5. Exercise sound judgment while making lesson adjustments in school.
6. Engage in thoughtful self-evaluation and reflection and then record it promptly.
7. Be proactive in seeking feedback and work towards improvement.
8. Carry his/her own duster, chalk, scale, geometry box, maps, roller board, pen drive and any other requisites for the lesson.
9. Seek permission beforehand while utilizing any resources of school, and return the issued items with proper care to the concerned school personnel, immediately after the lesson.
10. Ensure that, if any resources have been issued from college, the same should be returned immediately after the lesson, so that if required the same is available to other students.
11. Ensure that the lessons are executed according to the timetable submitted; the supervising teacher shall entertain no change initiated by the student without consultation with the faculty In-charge of Internship.
12. Ensure that all members have shared responsibility towards the working of the school group.
13. Ensure that each member undertakes different tasks of the school group and makes a meaningful contribution to the school.
PROCESS OF DISCIPLINARY ACTION
V.1 WARNING - Indicating that the action of the said student whose misconduct was in violation of the Code and any further such acts shall result in severe disciplinary action.
V.2 RESTRICTIONS -Reprimanding and restricting access to various facilities on the campus for a specified period.
V.3 COMMUNITY SERVICE - For a specified period of time to be extended for those students who defaulted in community and outreach activity/ies. However, any future misconduct along with failure to comply with any conditions imposed may lead to severe disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.
V.4 EXPULSION - Expulsion of a student from the College permanently indicating prohibition from entering the College premises or participating in any student related activities or campus residences etc.
V.5 MONETARY PENALTY - May also include suspension or forfeiture of scholarship/fellowship for a specific time period.
V .6 SUSPENSION - A student may be suspended for a specified period of time which will entail prohibition on participating in student related activities, classes, programs etc. Additionally, the student will be forbidden to use various College facilities unless permission is obtained from the Competent Authority. Suspension, may also be followed by possible dismissal, along with the following additional penalties.
• Ineligibility to reapply for admission to the College for a period of three years.
• Withholding of the grade card or certificate for the Programme studied or work carried out.
